A Firm Built on Integrity Since 1974

Founded in 1974 by Roger Oatley, Oatley Vigmond was built on two guiding principles: to create a workplace that is engaging and fulfilling, and to maintain a high standard of legal practice grounded in care, preparation, and integrity. Those principles continue to guide the firm today.

Under the leadership of Co-Managing Partners Adam Little and Troy Lehman, Oatley Vigmond continues to be recognized as a leader in Ontario personal injury law. The firm’s partners, Brian Cameron, Robert Durante, Kevin Henderson, Karen Vigmond, Ben Irantalab, Lara Fitzgerald Husek, Liane Brown, and Charles Jung, bring deep experience, strong judgment, and a genuine commitment to the people they represent.

From the first meeting through the resolution of a case, we work closely with clients, their families, treatment providers, and support teams to advance claims with care and accountability. Our clients pay no legal fees until a settlement is reached. After resolution, we continue to assist clients as they plan for their long term financial and personal needs.

Recognized Leaders in Ontario Personal Injury Law

Oatley Vigmond’s reputation has been shaped by decades of leadership, advocacy, and meaningful contribution to the personal injury bar. Roger Oatley is a past president of The Advocates’ Society, and Jim Vigmond is a past president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. Both are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation extended to experienced trial lawyers whose careers reflect ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality.

As Co-Managing Partner, Adam Little brings significant trial and appellate experience to the firm’s continued leadership in Ontario personal injury law. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including jury trials in the Superior Court of Justice, appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal, and matters before the Divisional Court. In Vokes v. Palmer, Adam established a new high water mark for claims advanced on behalf of children who have lost a parent, and the case remains a leading decision in Ontario law.

Troy Lehman, also Co-Managing Partner, continues this legacy as a respected trial lawyer, educator, and Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has represented many clients at trial and acted as lead counsel in appeals before the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. Troy teaches the Personal Injury Advocacy course at Queen’s University and is the co author, with Roger Oatley, of the third edition of Addressing the Jury: Achieving Fair Verdicts in Personal Injury Cases, the first and only Canadian book dedicated to practice before civil juries. Written by two leading litigators, the book provides practical guidance on courtroom communication, persuasion, and achieving fair results for injured clients.

Across the firm, Oatley Vigmond lawyers regularly speak at personal injury conferences, publish articles, and share insights with other lawyers, health care professionals, and community partners. Their ongoing contributions reflect the firm’s long standing commitment to excellence, education, and leadership in Ontario personal injury law.

What Makes Us Different

For clients in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area, Barrie, Hamilton, Simcoe County, Durham Region, North Bay, Ottawa, and across Ontario, we approach every matter with care, dedication, and compassion. We understand that a serious injury affects more than the legal claim. It can upend a person's health, independence, finances, family life, and long-term plans.

Our lawyers continually develop more effective ways to advance claims, present evidence, and communicate clearly at mediation, pre-trial, and before a jury. We invest in technology and processes that support thorough document management and legal analysis, all in service of clients who deserve preparation, compassion, and accountability at every stage.
