Attorneys J. Gary Gwilliam and Eric Ivary founded the firm in Oakland, California in 1978. Jim Chiosso joined the firm in 1979 and was followed soon thereafter by Steven Cavalli. In 1986, Steven Brewer joined the firm, and the firm’s name was soon changed to include each of its partners.
