Dr Thomas Helck has almost 15 years' experience working for leading international law firms, such as Skadden, Freshfields and White & Case, and spent around five years working as a public prosecutor in Munich. He therefore understands the procedures and expectations of investigative authorities and criminal courts, using this knowledge to his clients' advantage.
This combination, complemented by his fluency in English, gives Dr Helck a unique selling point in Germany that is particularly valued by foreign clients.
He has been present during numerous searches and has negotiated with almost every German investigative authority, including the police, the public prosecutor's office, the tax office, the main customs office, the Federal Cartel Office and BaFin (the German financial regulator).
Dr Helck's expertise covers all criminal offences in commercial criminal law, and he is also highly knowledgeable in administrative offence proceedings, particularly with regard to potentially impending corporate fines.
His clients include a European aircraft manufacturer, a leading German vehicle manufacturer, several listed companies, and numerous executives and board members from companies of various sizes.
Finally, Dr Helck also offers compliance advice and has extensive experience in conducting internal investigations.
