For over thirty five years, Jo Benson Fogel PA (Ms. Fogel, and associate attorneys Farida Robinson and Kim Sorensen and experienced support staff) have represented individuals in complex divorce and family related litigation. Clients have been successful in being awarded and preserving their marital, professional and family assets. Jo Benson Fogel PA concentrates in assisting those individuals who are entitled to receive income from retirement benefits, bonuses, estate, property, and partnership holdings or other assets. Ms. Fogel's years of experience have created a strong and respected reputation throughout the state of Maryland and suburbs of Washington, DC.

For the last 25+ years Ms. Fogel's primary focus has been on court-related matters involving families and individuals in the Maryland courts. Her clients are primarily Montgomery and Prince George’s County citizens of all ages involved in divorce, guardianship, custody, property distribution, estate planning and will litigation and administration matters. She is also active in the Maryland State and Montgomery County Bar Associations (currently on the Executive Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Foundation). Mrs. Fogel has an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell, the national lawyers directory, she is listed in the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for Maryland, and she has been designated a Maryland Super Lawyer, and recognized in Best Lawyers in America. She has also been part of the Family Law faculty of the Maryland Judicial Institute since 1995. She served on the committee that oversees the implementation of Md. Rule 6.1 regarding Pro Bono and the lawyers of Maryland at its inception. In 1999 the Montgomery County Bar Foundation recognized her for her Extraordinary Commitment to Delivery of Legal Services. Ms. Fogel served two terms on the Board of Directors of InterfaithWorks, and is currently on the Advisory Board of the Bowen Center for the Study of Family.
