For more than four decades, Moye White LLP has maintained a progressive approach to the practice of law. Founded in 1976, the firm’s focus was on the areas of commercial transactions and litigation, a focus that continues to this day.

That was a rough period for us, and we agreed in 2000 to be acquired by a large public company, and their legal team saved us from a disaster (stock market decline) and extricated us cleanly from the transaction, even retrieving our legal fees. I hired Moye White when I switched firms and had employment agreements in place with the employer I was leaving. The Moye White attorney did an outstanding job of explaining in detail the terms of the agreement I had signed, the provisions in the document that were absolutely enforceable, the provisions in the agreement that were not enforceable, and then laying out the remaining provisions that may or may not be enforceable alongside their relative risks for potential litigation if they were not honored. My attorney did a great job keeping me out of litigation while allowing me a plan and path forward to act honorably and ethically to work through my transition between firms successfully. Through this process I learned that sometimes the best attorney is the one that keeps you out of a lawsuit, and does not put you in one, by weighing the risks and rewards of each move.

If longevity provides any weight, though my firm came to them through their own merger, the legal team handling my corporate affairs, corporate books, intellectual property licensing and contracts representation started in 1995. They have always had our back, been great counsel, and taken better care of us than we take of ourselves. 1995 we were Pegasus Imaging Corp, then through an acquisition they managed, changed our name to Accusoft Corporation.

At long last, after nearly 40 years of on and off legal issues with this specific property, a clean, clear, and complete settlement has been reached. Following the settlement agreement, Ms. Power worked with the opposing attorney to be sure that all the pertinent boundaries and conditions were met and all outstanding issues addressed and resolved before final payments and documents were exchanged and recorded. Without her perseverance, attention to detail, negotiating ability, and contract documentation skills, this protracted case would still be pending.
