Sean P. Schmergel opened the practice in 2004 to provide clients in a divorce or other family-related crisis with strong advocacy and a helping hand in what is often their most difficult and vulnerable moment.

The firm's goal is to provide personalized attention to each client in resolving all manner of divorce and family law matters. Clients can expect not only zealous representation, but a commitment to resolving each case in the most efficient manner, whether in court or by negotiation.

We offer clients are creative, open-minded and forward-thinking legal expertise based on years of experience in the local court systems. Each case is passionately pursued with the unique approach it deserves.

We are not a "general practice"​ law firm. We focus exclusively on divorce and family law. We believe that limiting our practice in this manner allows us to be more proficient and stay abreast of developments in family law which affect our clients. The firm therefore offers a full range of services in the limited areas of family law, including divorce, premarital agreements, child custody and support.
