Best Law Firms in Texas for Bet-the-Company Litigation
Founded in 1959, Byrd Davis Alden & Henrichson, LLP enjoys a strong reputation for high quality legal representation. We specialize in serious and complex personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and business litigation cases.
Byrd Davis Alden & Henrichson traces its roots to Tony Byrd, who founded our law firm with the goal of representing injured clients. Mr. Byrd believed that the clients’ best interests could be served by taking their cases before a jury of their peers where they could be fully compensated for the injuries sustained.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s when only a few national firms had the competency to handle product liability, aviation and complex medical litigation, our firm stood at the forefront of developing personal injury law. In the course of our history, our attorneys have successfully represented injured plaintiffs against almost every major manufacturer in the United States, foreign corporations and nearly all the major aircraft and helicopter manufacturers in the world. The firm has obtained recoveries for victims of government, local public entities, hospitals and drug manufacturers’ wrongdoing.
Beginning in the 1990s, Byrd Davis Alden & Henrichson expanded its practice into commercial litigation, representing clients in breach of contract actions in various contexts. We served as class counsel in oil royalty litigation against the eight largest unified petroleum producing companies and recovered over $19 million on behalf of our clients. Since then, we have continued to expand our practice into business disputes over breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation, partnership and fiduciary liability, real estate disputes, and class actions.
Today Byrd Davis Alden & Henrichson carries on our founder’s goals. Throughout our history we have remained dedicated to serving our clients with honesty, integrity and excellence in legal services.
After more than half a century, we remain among the top trial firms in the United States. Our lawyers continue to be recognized as speakers, faculty members and leaders in professional organizations. We are trial lawyers. In civil and criminal legal circles across the nation, we’ve built a solid reputation for establishing rapport with juries and obtaining favorable results for our clients.
We are a diverse legal team with years of courtroom experience, both state and federal. We are experienced in the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of cases, and we handle all appeals. We’re also a law firm with a distinct personality. We keep a positive, upbeat, and relaxed perspective, while remaining passionate about the law and driven to explore every angle of a legal position. We truly love what we do, so going the extra mile for our clients comes naturally.
We believe there is no issue too complicated for a jury to understand. We often take a complex case or concept and transform it in a way that jurors can relate to — presenting all the relevant facts and evidence while keeping the jurors’ interest and attention. This philosophy is important for two reasons. First, juries sense that we believe in and trust them, and our ability to communicate with them increases the likelihood of success for our clients. Just as importantly, our opponents’ recognition of our successful record with juries greatly enhances the settlement potential of a case in a way that frequently makes a trial unnecessary and creates a more satisfying solution for our clients.
Our practice is unusual in that it is both a civil and criminal practice. It is, however, based on our ability to create a positive connection with jurors whether they are hearing a civil or criminal case. Although our practice has increasingly been devoted to civil cases, we have steadfastly continued to represent people in criminal cases because we believe in and enjoy the work. For the last several years, our practice has been comprised of approximately 80 percent civil litigation and 20 percent criminal defense representation. We love the variety and believe that the eclectic nature of our trial practice actually reinforces our ability to be of help to a broad cross-section of individuals and companies.
