Neal Gerber Eisenberg was founded in 1986 by a group of lawyers of widely diverse backgrounds and personalities. Entrepreneurial and independent-minded as individuals, these lawyers were committed to a firm culture and style of practice that encouraged collaboration among colleagues at all levels. Each of the founders brought to the enterprise years of experience in and deep substantive knowledge of specialized areas of law, yet each favored practicing in ways that were broadly interdisciplinary, recognizing the fresh perspectives that approach could bring to every client matter.
The firm has grown and thrived in large part because so many of our clients have been strongly entrepreneurial and individualistic and have seen their own values and outlooks mirrored in us. Our clients appreciate that we do not view their businesses generically, but understand the uniqueness of who they are, what they do, and the legal and practical challenges they may face; that we recognize that a particular strategy or solution for one client may not be suitable for another, even if they operate in similar spheres; and, above all, that we listen. Our goal is to know the client and the client’s business as thoroughly as possible and bring creative insight to every matter. Knowing what makes each client special is what makes us special.
Neal Gerber Eisenberg is one of the largest single-office law firms in the nation. The scope of our practice is both international and domestic and covers a full range of legal services, including transactions of all kinds, litigation, and intellectual property. Our clients include Fortune 100 companies as well as small and mid-sized businesses; public companies as well as private equity firms; established institutions and start-ups. Personalized service to entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals and families is a keystone of our practice. We also are dedicated to improving the life of our community by working with public service organizations and by making legal services available, pro bono, to those who might otherwise lack access to justice.
For 40 years, we’ve succeeded—and helped our clients succeed—by deploying the best legal talent as efficiently as possible, by thinking collaboratively and “outside the box,” and by partnering with our clients to achieve the results they desire. At a time when many law firms see themselves as institutions, Neal Gerber Eisenberg continues to hold that rendering legal services is a person-to-person endeavor.

While corporate, nonprofit, association and individual clients hire O’Hagan Meyer attorneys because of our broad and deep expertise, stellar reputation and outstanding track record in the courtroom, they rehire us primarily because of one key attribute: we tell it like it is. When a case or matter comes to us, we examine it thoroughly but quickly and if we and our client believe we should litigate, we’ll roll up our sleeves and fight to win. But if we determine that it’s in the client’s best interest to settle, we’ll say so, explain why and get rid of the problem as fast and efficiently as possible. We’re straight shooters, straight away.
We have offices staffed by nationally honored and well-regarded attorneys in all the major regions in the United States. With such geographic reach and depth, we use our experience and expertise to solve problems wherever they arise. Yet, because we operate in a low-overhead environment, we’re able to deliver top-shelf counsel at fair rates. We’re not profit-driven, we’re service-driven.

We formed Summit Law Group to revolutionize the way legal services are provided to law firm customers. Most law firms practice the same way that they did 25 years ago. Those firms focus on lawyers, not customers. Their practice model relies on large numbers of people billing large numbers of hours, often without regard for the value of the work to the customer.
We reject that model. We believe that the market for legal services has dramatically changed in the last decade. Our mission is to think creatively and proactively in formulating the most effective and efficient solutions to your legal needs.
Summit Law Group achieves great results with small, efficient and creative teams. Every person at Summit Law Group is a legal professional who shares in the firm's success, and every lawyer is an equity owner of our business. As a result, everyone on your Summit team personally feels a sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability to our customers unparalleled at other firms. We strive to eliminate the inherent inefficiencies of traditional law firm practice, such as a leveraged partner/associate hierarchy, in order to focus exclusively on you, our customer.
This model has been proven over the years by our success with a broad variety of complex legal issues, success that has created loyal, enthusiastic customers. Summit Law Group is committed to building working partnerships with our customers and delivering the highest caliber work product with entrepreneurial vigor.

Weitz & Luxenberg is one of the premier plaintiff’s lawfirms in the nation. The largest mass tort and personal injury litigation lawfirm in New York, Weitz & Luxenberg is also one of the most successfulfirms nationally, having won over $17 billion in verdicts and settlements for clients from all 50 states.
The crowning achievement in the firm’s well-rounded and respected practice, Weitz & Luxenberg has won acclaim for its pioneering work in asbestos litigation. Clients attest to the firm’s reputation of excellence and trustworthiness – which it earns through a commitment to both cutting-edge legal work and old-fashioned principles.
Leaders in Asbestos Litigation
Established in 1986, Weitz & Luxenberg has developed one of the most successful asbestos litigation practices in the nation. The firm has fought on the sides of thousands of clients suffering from mesothelioma, lung cancer, and asbestosis. The firm has litigation groups to assist clients harmed by environmental pollutants, defective drugs and medical devices, and negligent acts.
Weitz & Luxenberg’s attention to these clients is always dispensed on a personal, intimate level. The firm’s asbestos lawyers approach each client’s case with a fresh eye. Their elite legal team is able to walk a new client through the steps they need to take, all while listening to the client’s needs to determine which direction those steps should point.
This personalized approach is backed up by a powerful litigation engine. Weitz & Luxenberg’s asbestos practice is larger than that of many other firms who specialize in asbestos cases, and the firm’s lawyers hold leadership positions on many asbestos bankruptcy trusts, which comprise a combined $30 billion earmarked for compensating victims of asbestos.
What it boils down to is a firm with dozens of lawyers, locations in three major cities, and one goal: providing exemplary, custom-tailored legal service.
Flourishing Legal Practice
Weitz & Luxenberg’s considerable resources also extend to other major practice areas. The firm has litigation groups to assist clients harmed by environmental pollutants, defective drugs and medical devices, and negligent acts – including medical malpractice, traumatic injuries, and other accidents. Attorneys in these practice areas have obtained a number of remarkable legal successes for Weitz & Luxenberg’s clients.
Firm History
Weitz & Luxenberg was founded in 1986 by partners Perry Weitz and Arthur Luxenberg. One of their first court victories – a $75 million verdict for clients exposed to asbestos while working at the Brooklyn Navy Yard– was a historic case that changed the landscape of asbestos litigation.
The firm’s reputation has continued to grow in the interceding years – as has its access to top-flight resources. Weitz &Luxenberg currently has more than 85 attorneys in their New York, Los Angeles, and Cherry Hill, NJ offices. Weitz & Luxenberg lawyers are sought-after speakers for the asbestos bar, and even competing law firms ask Weitz& Luxenberg to handle many of their asbestos-related cases every year.
The firm continues to break ground with their legal work today. In a 2011 lung cancer case, Weitz & Luxenberg secured a $22 million verdict against Goodyear Tire & Rubber on behalf of two smokers who had been exposed to asbestos on the job.
Simply Excellent LegalService
Weitz & Luxenberg is well known for its elite legal work, but the strength of their commitment to their clients’ goals and communities is not to be overlooked.
The firm makes a point of telling clients to express their goals and concerns – which the firm then responds to by formulating legal strategies sensitive to those objectives. With those goals in mind, Weitz & Luxenberg is then equipped – perhaps as well as any plaintiff’s litigation law firm in the nation – to make those goals a reality.
